Dr. Eric Minus

As A Musician

To touch hearts, minds, and souls through music performance, creation, and production.

About Music

Dr. Eric Minus is an award-winning music producer and songwriter who has been in the music industry for over 30 years. Formally trained as a saxophonist, Eric began his musical journey with his brother Daryl, listening to his father spinning vinyl records of jazz, blues, soul, R&B, and gospel greats on the turntable. As his musical horizons broadened, Eric began to focus his energies on electric bass, electric guitar, and drums. After years of developing an instrumental foundation through exposure to most musical genres, the undeniable influences of jazz, funk, and gospel eventually became well-known components of The Minus brother’s repertoire.

In Season Music Group

Combining his knowledge and expertise in business and leadership, Eric, alongside his brother and long-time friend and partner N. Jeremi Duru, founded In Season Music Group in 2000, an independent music recording label, where they write and produce music as the group Minus2 and for award-winning independent recording artist Derek Dunn, who is also a member of the ISMG family. As a songwriter, music producer, and label executive, Eric has contributed to 13 projects of independent artists from around the country, including his own with his brother. Eric has enjoyed the honor of performing with multiple national artists of all different genres and is a sought-after producer and session musician.

What Do People Say

Testimonials

Music / Leadership

“

Exceptional leaders often seamlessly wear many hats while serving/managing and directing multidisciplinary programs. While Dr. Minus is a consummate leader in education, most educators and musicians still can’t fathom how he simultaneously maintains the highest level of “live” and recordings of his expertise as a producer, performer, and great musicianship.

My team was elated when his musicianship was available to contribute to major Kennedy Center (Washington, DC) performances and participate in my Grammy-nominated music projects.

I am proud to recommend Dr. Eric Minus as one of the unique leaders who crosses and includes interdisciplinary areas that are most needed for the next generation of global leaders.
